The UK Government plans to replace our Human Rights Act with a UK Bill of Rights

There are grave concerns about the Governments proposals which go along way to watering down the hard won Rights of people with Disabilities including barriers to accessing the Courts to obtain legal judgements and other measures that will take Disability Rights back to the 1930’s.

The Consultation began just before Christmas 2021 and will end on 8th March 2022, yet few people know about the proposed Bill of Rights, what it means for people living with Disabilities or about the Consultation.

On Wednesday 23rd February Age UK Scotland’s About Dementia Forum are holding a Day of action, including a Twitter event using the hashtag

#HumanRightsACTion

Join in the conversation and share your thoughts.

The consultation and link to take part can be found at:

https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/human-rights-act-reform-a-modern-bill-of-rights

We need as many people as possible to take part to show what the Government is proposing goes far short of what is expected of a Bill of Rights in the 21st Century

Age UK Scotland’s About Dementia Forum are providing templates for people to post and then take part in the conversation
